Cascada Verde aka The Uvita Waterfall
If you’re looking for a one of a kind waterfall experience in Costa Rica, then Cascada Verde is the fall for you!
Located just 15 minutes from Escaleras Escape this waterfall is a nature lovers paradise.
Although it is not the biggest or most predominate fall in the area, Cascada Verde is sure to get your blood pumping in a unique way.
This place is equipped with a natural waterfall water slide, 4m cliff jump, multiple swimming holes, and a flowing river. It’s perfect!

The Hike
The hikes to Cascada Verde are super easy and suitable for hikers/children of all fitness levels.
If you’re starting from the first entrance, you will walk through a “butterfly forest” before taking the well marked path down into the falls.
The second entrance starts at the restaurant and takes you down a well marked path into the top fall.
Although the paths are flat and easy to follow, do be careful, as the rocks can be slippery.
The Falls
Located in the middle of the rainforest along a clear cascading river, this waterfall offers up stunning views, refreshing waters, and fun to be had by all.
Relax in the natural swimming holes or make your way to the top of the fall to experience the natural waterfall water slide the area is known for!
Have fun, be safe, pick up your trash, and leave nothing behind!

From Escaleras Escape, turn right at blue butterfly rock and take the road of your choosing down to the highway.
(The roads on the mountain are constantly changing. Message Blake and Barbara to get their recommended road for you and your guests during the duration of your stay.)
Turn left onto the Costanera Sur and drive into Uvita.
Take your first left once in Uvita (right before BCR (Banco de Costa Rica)) and follow the road for about 5 minutes.
You will pass Mosaic Wine Bar on your left and continue on to the dirt road.
Keep left at the fork towards the “waterfall” sign.
The first entrance is about 300 M down on the right side of the road.
If you continue on for another 200m or so you will come to the waterfall’s 2nd entrance. This entrance is equipped with a restaurant.
