June 2019 Tide Times

Here at Escaleras Escape you’ll plan your days around the tides.

It’s important to know the tide times when visiting the Whale’s Tail at Marino Ballena and also useful for lovers of surfing and beach bumming.

Timing the Tides

Marino Ballena: Low Tide

Beach Bumming: Low Tide

Playa Ventanas (Caves): Low Tide

Surfing/Boogie Boarding: 2-3 hours before high tide

Sport Fishing: Anytime except 3 days before or after a full moon. (June 17)

Recommended Surf Beaches Based on Skill Level

Beginner Surfers: Punta Uvita & Playa Chaman

Intermediate Surfers: Playa Hermosa

Advanced Surfers: Playa Dominical & Punta Achiote

Local Happy Hours

Fuego Brewing Co: Everyday 430-6

El Rancho Restaurant: Sunday to Friday 3-5

Flutterby House: Everyday 5-until they run out.

Pura Vida: Everyday 5-630

Fushion Restaurant and Bar: Everyday 4-6

Bistro Hotel Lookout: Everyday 4-6

The Bamboo Room: Monday-Saturday 2-4 pm

Escaleras Escape’s Attraction of the Month

June marks the start of green season which means the waterfalls are pumping! There’s no better time to get out and explore some of the most magnificent waterfalls Costa Rica has to offer.

Escaleras Escape would recommend checking out both Nauyaca Falls and Poza Azul!
